Branden grew up enjoying hunting, fishing, and hiking in the outdoors in Saskatchewan. He completed his Bachelor of Arts Honours English and Bachelor of Education at the U of S before teaching in the Saskatoon area. He then returned to school to get his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology with an Honours project on black bear denning in Saskatchewan’s boreal shield. After starting his Master’s, he worked on home range analysis for wolves in northern Saskatchewan. Currently, he is working on his Master’s project where he will be analyzing factors affecting caribou calf recruitment throughout Canada. He enjoys spending time with his family and dog.
